How do you explain isaiah 46:9 when we know that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father is Same God?
Why do you think He did not choose to say that there is no other Gos like Us?
JOEL - Here is the scripture:
"Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me," (Isaiah 46: 9)
The heading to that chapter says the following:
"Idols are not to be compared with the Lord, He alone is God and will save Israel."
The same thing is said in other places:
"Is there a God beside me? Yea, there is no God; I know not any"(Isaiah 44:8)
Jehovah was trying to persuade the Israelites from worshipping the many false gods (idols) of their neighbors, and he wanted them to focus on their God, Jehovah, who is Jesus Christ, who represents God the Father, and are one God as Nephi explained:
"And now, behold, this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end. Amen." (2 Nephi 31:21)
God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are not one individual, but they are one in purpose and we recognize them collectively as "God".
In your scripture when Jehovah said "I am God, and there is none like me", the "me" he is referring to is the one God which is both Him and God the Father.
Whatever Jesus says, it is the same as God the Father saying it.
Perhaps He did not say "Us" because He didn't want to confuse them with the idea of there being actually 2 personages.
It was easier for them to just have one God in mind that they should worship.
