TOM Is there a connection between the jews suffering during the halocaust and the jews killing Christ? Is there some scriptural support or prophecy that the jews would suffer greatly because they killed the son of God?
Also...would you refer to the Jews as Gods "chosen" people? I thought we (LDS) were?

The Bible makes it clear that the Jews will be the object of both God’s wrath and His grace in the end times (Jeremiah 30, Zechariah 13:1).
"And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the Lord shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind." (Deut 28: 65)
Besides a few scriptures such as these about future suffering, I know of no direct connection or prophecy relating to the Jews being involved in what was later know as the holocaust with the specific reason being because they were responsible for killing Jesus. There were of course some followers of Hitler who may have held the Jews responsible for killing Jesus and used that as part of their rational for hating and killing them. But no prophecy of that happening that I know of.
The Jews are definately the original "chosen people" of God. Jehovah said to Israel:
"If ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation." (Ex. 19:5-6.)
"For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God: the Lord thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth." (Deut. 7:6; 14:2.)
And Peter said to Israel in his day:
"Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light." (1 Pet. 2:9.)
Faithful latter-day saints in our time are also called "chosen people". Our scriptures teach that "there are many called, but few are chosen." (D&C 121:34.)
As a Book of Mormon prophet reminded us that, only those who receive the gospel and commit themselves by obedience and continued faithfulness to the Mediator of the covenant are really covenant people.
"As many of the Gentiles as will repent are the covenant people of the Lord," he said, "and as many of the Jews as will not repent shall be cast off; for the Lord covenanteth with none save it be with them that repent and believe in his Son, who is the Holy One of Israel." (2 Ne. 30:2.)
Joseph Smith became a "father of the faithful" to those of this dispensation, the means by which the chosen people in this dispensation could be identified, gathered, organized as family units, and sealed forevermore into the house of Israel to their God.
From an LDS perspective, the Jews are indeed God's chosen people, but they are only one branch of many branches of the whole house of Israel. The LDS prophetic picture is one of increased numbers of people joining the Church and thus coming into the covenant, a gathering of more and more of Abraham's descendants who are scattered throughout the world.
