JAMIE - As we know God created many worlds and we learned from Prophet Brigham Young Spirit world is right here on this earth. My question when Christ visited spirit world when he died, which spirit world did he visit ? one on this earth or did he visited all of them in other worlds to organize missionary work?

JOEL - First of all we know that Jesus is the savior for all inhabitants of all worlds He created. In a vision given to Moses, the Lord said,

"Worlds without number have I created; and I also created them for mine own purpose, there are many (worlds) that now stand, and innumerable are they unto man" (Moses 1:33, 35).

Elder Marion G. Romney said:
"Except for his mortal ministry accomplished on this earth, his service and relationship to other worlds and their inhabitants are the same as his service and relationship to this earth and its inhabitants" (Improvement Era, Nov. 1968, 46).

Elder Bruce R. McConkie said:
"When the prophets speak of an infinite atonement, they mean just that. Its effects cover all men, the earth itself and all forms of life thereon, and reach out into the endless expanse of eternity. … And through the power of his atonement the inhabitants of these worlds, the revelation says, 'are begotten sons and daughters unto God' (D&C 76:24), which means that the atonement of Christ, being literally and truly infinite, applies to an infinite number of earths" (Mormon Doctrine, 2nd ed., Salt Lake City: Bookcraft, pp. 64, 65).

Concerning the location of the spirit world, President Brigham Young once said:
"When you lay down this tabernacle, where are you going? Into the spiritual world...Where is the spirit world? It is right here. Do the good and evil spirits go together? Yes they do. Do they go beyond the boundaries of the organized earth? No, they do not. [Discourses of Brigham Young, ed. John A. Widtsoe, pp. 376-81. Salt Lake City, 1946.].

Elder Parley P Pratt seems to agree when he said:
"As to its location, [the spirit world] is here on the very planet where we were born; or, in other words, the earth and other planets of a like sphere, have their inward or spiritual spheres, as well as their outward, or temporal. The one is peopled by temporal tabernacles, and the other by spirits. A vail [sic] is drawn between the one sphere and the other, whereby all the objects in the spiritual sphere are rendered invisible to those in the temporal. (Parley P. Pratt, Key to the Science of Theology (London: Latter-day Saints' Book Depot, 1855), 80.)

Therefore it is logical to assume that if the spirit world for us is on this earth, the spirit world for other worlds exists on those worlds for those inhabitants.

And if Jesus is the Savior for all the worlds then we can logically speculate (and I do mean speculate) that He must have visited all those spirit worlds and organized His missionary work for each one. For God time is not an issue so it's possible He did it in three earth days.

The idea of him visiting all the spirit worlds is suggested in the parable recorded in the D&C 88:41-61. Here a few of the verses:

56 And the lord of the field went unto the first in the first hour, and tarried with him all that hour, and he was made glad with the light of the countenance of his lord.
57 And then he withdrew from the first that he might visit the second also, and the third, and the fourth, and so on unto the twelfth.
58 And thus they all received the light of the countenance of their lord, every man in his hour, and in his time, and in his season
59 Beginning at the first, and so on unto the last, and from the last unto the first, and from the first unto the last;

The above scriptures are probably referring to Jesus visiting each of the mortal worlds he created, but could also be extrapolated to include the spirit worlds of each world.

An alternative possibility is that He might have only visited our spirit world during those three days and the other spirit worlds at other times. The scriptures do suggest that the worlds that God has created have come and gone and worlds are yet to be created (Moses 1: 33-38).

So the bottom line is there is no revelation specifically on how and when He visited all the spirit worlds. When speaking of this all the prophets only relate it to our world.
