GREG - Who is the Queen of the south? Have you ever heard?
JOEL - Here is the scripture you are referring to where Jesus said:
"The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it:
for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here. (Matt 12: 42)
In this scripture the savior is rebuking the Pharisees for not believing in him. The "queen of the south" is referring to the queen of Sheba
who had great respect for Solomon, the Israelite king and came from afar to talk to him, as told in 1 Kings.
"And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to prove him with hard questions.
And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones:
and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
(see 1 Kings 10:1–13).
The queen of Sheba recognized the greatness and wisdom of Solomon, whereas the Pharisees were not recognizing the divinity of Jesus (one greater than Solomon)
She will rise up in judgement against those who do not recognize nor believe in Jesus.
