ARLENE - There is a member from another stake who is running for a high public office who has asked to speak in are ward and I feel this is out of place.

JOEL - I agree. It is the responsibility of your Stake President or your Bishop to ask people to speak in your ward. Members should not seek out speaking engagements on their own. If your Bishop, on his own initiative, asked him to speak in your ward and he keeps his talk related only to gospel subjects then perhaps it would be OK. But even so, in my opinion, speaking in a ward or stake that is not his own, might look like he was trying to win votes among fellow church members. Ultimately the decision is up to your Bishop.
