JOEL - The one who stays faithful to the Gospel will not be
denied the Celestial Kingdom for things beyond their
control. The faithful divorced member will still
inherit the Celestial Kingdom without their original
spouse. We assume that such individuals wil be able to
marry again, if not in this life, then perhaps during
the Millennium, so that they will have an eternal
companion.
President Ezra Taft Benson said:
"I recognize that some sisters are widowed or
divorced. My heart is drawn to you who are in these
circumstances. The Brethren pray for you, and we feel
a great obligation to see that your needs are met.
Trust in the Lord. Be assured He loves you and we love
you. Resist bitterness and cynicism.
I also recognize that not all women in the Church will
have an opportunity for marriage and motherhood in
mortality. But if you in this situation are worthy and
endure faithfully, you can be assured of all blessings
from a kind and loving Heavenly Father—and I emphasize
all blessings." (Ezra Taft Benson, “To the Single
Adult Sisters of the Church,” Ensign, Nov. 1988, 96)
So even if your "opportunity for marriage" in this
life is cut short by divorce, Heavenly Father will
make sure you get "all" blessings you are entitled to.
