ROBERTO - Most Catholics worship the "Virgin" Mary as if she
were the main God which she isn't since God is a Man,
right? I use to be Catholic so I think that the
"Virgins"and the "Virgin" Mary that people claim
others saw might have been Luciifer! What do you think?
I have been wondering, could the "virgin" Mary that
people claim to have seen be our Heavenly Mother?
Since the Mary lady that God had chosen to give
birth to Jesus is the Mother of Jesus, is it possible
that she is also our mother, our Heavenly Mother, our
Heavenly Father's wife? If she is, than maybe God has
more than one woman in His life. However, according to
the Catholics, there were other chosen females, known
by the catholics as the "virgins" which were
supposedly helped by God, our Heavenly Father.
Thinking of all this disturbs me because maybe the
"virgin"(Mary)de Guadalupe that Catholics like to
worship (since Jesus' mom is the Mary lady that God
chose to be Jesus' mother) was actually Satan in
disguise. Thinking of all this is more disturbing
because it might make you wonder about whether Satan
can be in the form of a beautiful, nice
talking, angel! Maybe, just maybe, in My opinion, the
most abominable church is the Catholic church because
other people have said that they got visions of the
"virgin" Mary giving visions of constructing the
church(the Catholic church) that is dedicated to her.
What if the "Virgin" Mary that people say that others
saw turned out to be Satan?! A lot of Catholics
worship these "virgins?!"
JOEL - According to LDS doctrine, God is most definatley an
exalted male personage. I don't know what these other
people are seeing. They could be true visions of some sort;
or their source could be from Satan
trying to deceive them; or they could be hallucinating; or they could be
making it up in their minds because they really want
to see it; or they could simply be lying about what
they have seen to bring attention to themselves or
their cause. I do know that most of what they say they
see would not be consistant with the order of heaven
according to what God has revealed to us.
There are no known visitations of the "Heavenly Mother" to anyone.
I also know of no revealed information identifying Mary as our "Heavenly Mother".
I do believe that it is possible for the spirits of
people who have died to appear to loved ones on earth
and perhaps some have assumed, because of their
Catholic faith, that what they saw was the virgin
Mary. But only those who have claimed these visions
can know for sure what they did or did not see.
True reports of people who have seen spirits of
departed loved ones are only for their personal
benefit and would not be the way God would reveal His
doctrine and will to His children; He would do it
through a living prophet.
False visions result from seeking "signs"; authentic
visions usually come unbidden. "He that seeketh signs
shall see signs, but not unto salvation". Faith cometh
not by signs, but signs follow those that believe"
(D&C 67:7, 9).
According to LDS beliefs the Catholic Church by itself is
not the great abominable church, but might be included
in the definition. The "Great and Abominable Church",
also known as "Babylon" and the "great harlot" (Rev.
17:5), is used to signify all churches or any other
type of organization or cause, which are designed to
take men on a course away from God and salvation.
I think only God could know for sure which churches or organizations this would include.
Characteristics of pride, greed, and covenant
abandonment are associated with this church in sharp
contrast to the church of God. This "church" will
eventually fall when the Savior begins His Millennial reign (Rev. 18).
