BRITTANY - Do you happen to know if the white sheet used to cover the sacrament bread and water has any symbolic meaning (besides purity/renewal of covenants, etc)?
Specifically-- I remember hearing from a Seminary teacher that the white sheet over the bread/water was symbolic of the Savior being wrapped in white linens when he was placed in the tomb. Have you ever heard of this?

JOEL - I have never heard that, but I suppose it could mean that if you want it to. Besides representing purity and a sense of sacred respect for the emblems, the white color reminds us of the sacred rites of baptism and temple worship we participate in where white clothing is worn. The only other reason is a practical one to keep things clean and protected from any outside contamination(dirt, bugs, hair, etc.)
